Dear mother

To my mum

So i crashed

Had a breakdown in 94/95
Couldnt choose between uni
Or hockey
Was offered a chance to do fulltime hockey
I collapsed instead

Ended up back home
In my childhood bedroom
Drugged up
Barely there
Barely conscious

EVERY MORNING my mum

Would come into my bedroom

Kiss me

And say
” i love you ”

And mean it

EVERY single bloody morning

In her cream dressing gown
And a smile

Life lines more evident
Even when she was exhausted

From hanging on

From hanging in

To
the most

courageous

Gracious
woman I know

My Mum.

Thankyou.

Your LOVE kept me aliveScreenshot_2017-02-09-22-04-53

I remember..

Anna xx
